Quality Education in the Catholic Tradition

Technology Inspired Curriculum

We offer a state-of-the-art technology driven curriculum with a recently updated language arts and math program and daily fine art specials in a catholic environment. Mass is celebrated weekly with the whole school.

We have a newly updated curriculum that allows students access to textbooks as well as e-books. Pre-K has 1:1 iPads.  Grades K-4 have mobile Chromebook labs.  Grades 5 – 6 are 1:1 Chromebooks.  All students have access to Google’s G-Suite for education and the Smarty Antz online reading program.

Buses

For school bus transportation we utilize:

  • Hancock County buses for Hancock county students
  • Burgettstown buses for Burgettstown students
  • Weirton Transit service for Brooke County students from Weirton to Wellsburg.

Drop-off/Pick-up

For the safety and security of our students and staff, we ask car riders and walkers to follow our schedule and system for drop off and pick up.  For more information please see our parents page of this website.

Security

St. Joseph the Worker has been working to improve the safety of all students and faculty in the building during the school day by installing a new security system and buzzer entry system on main entrance ways. All parents and visitors must be buzzed in through the front doors which open into a newly remodeled front entry way which closes the school off to any outsiders. All outsiders must sign in and have office approval before moving into the school. St. Joseph is now equipped with outdoor and indoor security cameras that give the office staff total view of the entire indoor and outdoor school campus.

Our Campus Resource Officer is a full-time retired Weirton police officer.
